1950s School Bus That Once Toured 200,000 Miles Revs Up for New Journey

A 1950s school bus that already racked up more than 200,000 miles on two continents decades ago is going back on the road.

Josh Jackling and Carolyn McKenna spent three years renovating the vehicle, which once belonged to Jackling's grandparents. According to In The Know, the older couple, who have both since passed away, drove the bus throughout North and South America, keeping a guestbook of the people they met along the way.

Now Jackling and McKenna will devote the next two years to an epic road trip of their own using the same rig.

Their planned 15,000-mile journey will take them from Southern California eastward to Florida and then back west—and north—all the way to Alaska.

They intend to document the whole thing on TikTok and Instagram.

Expect views of the wide-open road and glimpses of life in the adorable confines of the remodeled bus. Interior improvements include a full kitchen, a tiny wood-burning stove, and even a shower with heated floors.

The trip commences in March 2021, according to the couple's Instagram page. Follow @crownedinstyle there or on TikTok to make sure you don't miss a single leg of the journey.
