Mo' Bay for Less Money: Spring Savings on Lush Jamaica

April 24, 2004 -- We're not jerking you around. Now's an excellent time to snap up some spring savings for three-day to weeklong vacation packages to Jamaica.

For Jamaica, you can have a Thursday departure from April 22 through May 13, 2004, taking you to Ocho Rios, where you stay at the Couples Resort for three nights, all-inclusive, from $861, based on a Boston departure. All-inclusive means your room, all meals, food and beverages, snacks, and participation in most activities. Prices do not include airport taxes and fees or personal charges such as phone calls, room service, etc. US Airways Vacations also has spring specials to Aruba, Cancun, The Bahamas and Barbados. Contact them at www.usairwaysvacations.com or at 800/352-8747.

Starting at $864 are some land-only, five-night packages offered by Pleasant Holidays at the Couples Swept Away Negril Resort, also in Jamaica. You can travel from now through December 24, 2004, and your all-inclusive price covers the lodging, roundtrip hotel/airport transfers, all meals, drinks and activities, plus more amenities. You can swim, take in water sports or those on land, and have unlimited meals, unlimited drinks, enjoy a fruit & veggie bar, and more. This price reflects a savings of $616 per couple, Pleasant Holidays says. Contact them at 800/448-3333 or visit www.pleasantholidays.com.

Northwest Airlines World Vacations has an offer of savings on its seven-night packages at several resorts in Jamaica if you book by April 30. Travel is for the period June 1 through December 31, 2004, unless otherwise noted. One deal is for a first-class upgrade on the plane, if booking Sandals Resort or Royal Plantation Spa & Golf Resort. You have to reserve at 800/800-1504, and upgrades are subject to availability.

You can save up to $300, they say, on Worry-Free Vacations or World Vacations Jamaica air/hotel packages of seven nights or more at Sandals, Royal Plantation or Beaches properties. The rules are complicated and sometimes depend on which gateway city you use. Other savings, they say, are for $250 at some resorts, or 55% off from Dallas, Detroit and St. Louis to Super Clubs.

For more information on these, check out www.worryfreevacations.com or www.nwaworldvacations.com.
