Frommer's Review
If you like exotic tchotchkes, be prepared to lose all sense of time when you enter this store. Colorful hand-woven cloth from Guatemala, intricate weavings from Peru, glassware, jewelry, and tinwork from Mexico -- all these and more are available at Tesoros, which (in addition to its high-quality folk art) also offers a limited selection of furniture, dishes, and housewares from Latin America. Plenty of reasonably priced items mingle with expensive treasures. This store, and its neighbor, the restaurant Las Manitas, may have to move if plans to build a Marriott Hotel go through. The owners say that if they must move, it will be to a location either on Congress or in the vicinity of Lamar and Sixth Street.
