From the giant swinging couches in the main lobby to the large central pavilions, this hotel is decked-out in a grand, if exaggerated, Thai-style. The Marriott often attracts large groups but is a good choice for families too, though it’s situated quite a way from the town center. Ponds, pools, boats, golf, tennis, and other sports venues dot the jungle-like grounds leading to their open beach area, and there is even a “zoo” of pool floats for lounging (selfie opportunities abound). Deluxe rooms are the top choice—large, amenity-filled, and facing out to sea. Terrace rooms at beachside are worth the bump up.
