Located on a rocky hillside on the northwest of the island, this is the place to go if you want a luxurious, pampering, and relaxing break. American designer Bill Bensley designed most of the hotel’s newest features, including a sea-facing muay Thai ring and a rum vault with a private tasting room hidden behind an old prison door. All villas and suites enjoy expansive views out to sea, and guests have a choice of swimming at the hotel’s private beach, in the communal pool, or in the private infinity pool attached to each villa. Rooms are furnished in sumptuous style with deep soaking tubs, heavenly beds, and cool blues and grays. Golf carts are on hand to run guests up and down the steep hill, and service is both personal and extremely efficient. Guests who want to do a bit of good can participate in the hotel’s coral rehabilitation project.
