Elegance at a moderate price is the keynote here. One of the most modern and up-to-date hotels in town -- and certainly one of the most glamorous -- is named after the best-selling novel by James Clavell. (The former owner was a great devotee of his writings.) The comfortable pastel-colored rooms are decorated with copies of early 20th-century Swedish paintings. Because of the four-story hotel's convenient location in the town center, its quietest rooms face the interior courtyard.
