This downright swank mountain lodge dates to 1999, making it one of the newest in any national park. It offers not just eye-pleasing style, but a terrific location in the forest at about 7,200 feet above sea level, surrounded by hiking trails that are great skiing routes in wintertime. For those who like modern conveniences as much as they love national parks, this is the best fit in Sequoia. The onsite restaurant is also quite good.
