Ernest Hemingway would feel right at home at this evocative cocktail bar, which channels both Cuba and the American South and somehow makes the combination work. Rattan is everywhere, as are palm fronds. The purposefully distressed furniture looks like it was taken from the set of a Tennessee Williams play (comfy floral print couches scattered here and there, cut glass sconses, lots of knick-knacks on the faded, heather green walls). The bar is known for its rum drinks, many of which are lit on fire—a fun distraction; there's also an impressive selection of single malt whiskeys. As for the crowd, it's as beautiful, if less faded, as the setting and dancing does break out on weekends. During the week, this is a primo place for conversation and cocktails.
