No fine-dining options exist in Phitsanulok, which is okay because it fits the low-key vibe of the town. There are, however, lots of small eateries in and around the train station. Be sure to try the local specialty, khaew tak, sun-dried banana baked with honey; packages are sold everywhere and cost just 30B. Don’t miss Muslim delights like roti and curry on Pra Ong Dam Road. At the Night Bazaar, there is a fun local tradition of serving "flying vegetables"—morning-glory greens sautéed, tossed high in the air, and adeptly caught in the chef’s wok or even tossed to a nearby waiter who plates the veggies in the air!
