Here you’ll find those savory meat pies the Brits invented and the Aussies imported to their shores Down Under (you’ll notice a big mural of the Australian outback in the restaurant). Shepherd’s pie, lamb pie, steak pie, pork pie, fish pie are all on order—and the chicken pot pie that’s more familiar to Americans. This is a nice, unfussy spot to have a hearty and relatively inexpensive lunch. This being Portland, the ingredients used in all the pies are fresh and local. Entrees come with a swell salad or soup. Gluten-free and vegetarian casseroles, wraps, and pies are also available. And oh yes, you can get the other kind of pie here, too, and those are just as good. The restaurant is located in an industrial area and caters to the locals who work around there.
